Adolf Eichmann

A Nazi official who played a central role in the Holocaust. During the 1930’s he held various positions in the Nazi regime working almost exclusively on antisemitic policies. By October 1941, he was in charge of the transportation of Jews in Europe to extermination camps. Eichmann was a key figure at the Wannsee Conference of 1942, which was where the Final Solution was officially adopted. When the war ended, he went into hiding in Argentina where went into hiding for 15 years. In 1960, Israeli agents captured him and he was brought to Israel for trial. He was sentenced to death and executed in June 1962.
