Bloomsbury House, opened in 1938, was the headquarters of eleven aid organisations working to help refugees and an important centre for advice and aid for refugees arriving in Britain. These organisations included the German Jewish Aid Committee, the Domestic Bureau, the Movement for the Care of Children from German and the Central Committee for Internees.
