A person who believes in a system of government based on a classless society in which decisions on what to produce and what policies to pursue are made in the interests of the whole of society. People who follow this believe that the property and businesses of a country should be owned and controlled by everyone with equal weight. The Soviet Union ran on this model between 1917 and 1991.
