Joachim von Ribbentrop (30 April 1893 – 16 October 1946) was a German politician and leading member of the Nazi Party. Between 1938 and 1945, he served as foreign minister, where he played a key role in the negotiating the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. In 1945, Ribbentrop was arrested by the Allies, convicted at the Nuremberg Trials, and sentenced to death. He was executed on 16 October 1946.
