King George II

George II (19 July 1890 – 1 April 1947) was the King of Greece from 1935 until his death in 1947. In 1921, he married Princess Elisabeth of Romania (they divorced in 1935). During his lifetime, George II was exiled from Greece three times (during the First World War, following the coup of 1923 until his return to power in 1935, and during the Second World War). He died in 1947 and was succeeded by his younger brother King Paul.
