Martin Niemöller

A German Protestant priest who was born on the 14 January 1892 and died on the 6 March 1984. Niemöller was one of the founders of the Confessing Church, a church formed in 1934 which opposed the Nazi involvement in religion, and the Nazi German Evangelical Church. Niemöller was imprisoned in Sachsenhausen and Dachau for his views.
