Oyneg Shabes

An archive created by a group led by Emanuel Ringelblum in the Warsaw Ghetto. The name means ‘Joy of the Sabbeth’ in Hebrew. The archive contains a variety of sources, from notices to testimonies of those incarcerated. The archive was buried in milkcans in the ghetto to hide it from the Nazis. After the war, part of the archive was dug up and rediscovered.
