Sobibór

Sobibór

An extermination camp located in Poland. The camp was established in March 1942 as part of Operation Reinhard. Between April 1942 and October 1943, up to quarter of a million Jews were murdered there. It was closed down at the end of 1943 after a prisoners’ uprising in October of that year, where approximately 300 prisoners managed to escape, and 50 avoided being recaptured.
