This educational resource explores the history of the Lidice Massacre and the response by the Welsh village of Cwmgiedd. It aims to increase the historical knowledge of Wales’ relationship to the Holocaust and understand how some communities responded to the events.

It contributes to the Curriculum Cymreig by making local and Welsh history a focus of the study and applies to the mandatory learning of minority ethnic histories. This resource aims to remember and rehumanise the victims of the Holocaust by increasing students’ understanding of the Lidice story and the subsequent response in South Wales.

This educational resource is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to research and share the story of Wales and Lidice.
